
Beaches
Over four and a half kilometres of beaches with every amenity offer the opportunity to enjoy the Mediterranean climate throughout the year. Barcelona is a city open to the sea. The vast beaches of the Catalan capital, which extend over 4.5 km, enjoy fine golden sand and shallow waters for swimming. They are one of the largest leisure areas available to locals and visitors alike. They are never more than just a few minutes away from any point in the city, as they are easily accessible by public transport or by bicycle. Andorra, Offers a variety of Alpine and cross-country ski stations, and the wide variety of complementary ski and leisure activities, make the Principality the renowned white destination each winter. The country offers three Alpine ski stations in two ski areas: Grandvalira (Pas de la Casa–Grau Roig and Soldeu–El Tarter) and Vallnord (Ordino–Arcalís and Pal–Arinsal Mountain Park) which together amount to 177 slopes, and some 284.5 skiable kilometres, 110 mechanical lifts, 700 contracted monitors and 1385 snow guns which guarantee the practise of winter sports throughout the whole season; and all of this in an area of no more than 468 km2. www.andorra.ad
